The extremist is not “of God”, no matter the religion he claims.
The Children of Adam are being driven into a state of perpetual anxiety by those who have ill-designs. By creating such a condition, the contrivers of destruction seek to tap into the lowest state of human existence: the primal and animalistic instincts.
The extremists, those who claim the Religion of Truth, yet pervert it through their hideous desires to create civil strife, do the greatest disservice to Islam and Muslims. Their punishment will be with Allah, no doubt. On the other side, we have the war-drum beaters, the hate-mongers, the Islamophobes who came crawling out of the mud over the last decade. They are well-paid propagandists, collecting funds from the sale of books, political organizations like the Tea Party, the Heritage Foundation, the Christian Coalition, and others. The pundits of rage and insanity. And caught between the two: real Muslims who have the love of Islam and the desire for others to see its beauty, and non-Muslims who either seek understanding or to merely exist in peace. Between hammer and anvil, the minds and lives of Humanity.
In Surat al-Anfal, Allah ta’ala says:
وَاتَّقُوا فِتْنَةً لَّا تُصِيبَنَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنكُمْ خَاصَّةً ۖوَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
“and be wary of tumult, which will harm not only those of you who do wrong. Verily Allah is strict in punishment.”
In Surat al-Baqara, He says:
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالُوا إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ
“and when it is said to them “do not spread tumult and corruption in the earth”, they say “truly we are the peace-making reformers !” Truly, they are the mischief-makers, but they do not comprehend (the truth).”
Since the beginning of war, there have been those who profited from it. Tyrants have always sought control over lands and the people who inhabit them. In modern capitalism, one need only be a shareholder in Lockheed, Boeing, Halliburton, The Carlyle Group, or one from a long list of others, to enjoy the spoils of war. Today’s economies contain a massive coalition of Politician, Corporation, Bank, Religion, Media, and Bomb-maker, each one profiting through cooperation with the other.
A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction…This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every statehouse, every office of the federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society. In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together.
Throughout the last two centuries, it has been repeatedly speculated, and sometimes indicated, that this coalition of corruption also “stages” its own enemy targets. If you don’t have an enemy, you can’t profit from war. So, CREATE AN ENEMY !
It is known that the Reagan administration established policies that built both Saddam Hussein’s power in Iraq, and the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. It is known Reagan had secret relations with Iran. All were set up, utilized, and profited from. The continuation of today’s wars is blow-back, but the manipulators still earn their profits. And while the war-drummers accuse Islam of calling for never-ending “jihad” (which most assuredly has never been any part of Islam), their real objectives must be made clear: a never-ending war with Islam and the people of Islam. A never-ending war for greed and power, A never-ending war in which common people, Muslim, Christian, and Jew, will be terrorized and slaughtered. The never-ending war in which unnatural people seek their enjoyment through the destruction of peace, happiness, and life.
History shows this as the oft-repeated story. It’s only new to the people caught in it, people who don’t know from where it originated, normal people who can’t understand the designs of evil minds. And by the above-mentioned Verses of Qur’an, we know this is nothing new. Allah, by His Mercy, has shown the nature of tyrants and mischief-makers. He has also said:
“And when Our clear Verses are recited, the unbelievers say to the Believers “which of the two parties is in a better position of respect and council?” But how many nations before them have We cut down, who were wealthier in equipment and appearance?” I mention this because the manipulative media continues the taunts “they hate our freedom, they hate our civilization, they are jealous of our wealth”.
Of utmost importance to the Muslim is to remember Allah’s Objective for us: to strive until the Doors of Hedaya are opened, and Islam shines for all Mankind. We must take the lessons of Allah’s Book, of Rasulullah’s Life, and continue forward with Divine Purpose. Rasulullah was sent as the Mercy of Allah for all Humanity. That Mercy must be exemplified in our daily lives, no matter what obstacles and disheartening news we see. We must not be trapped into the false dichotomy of us versus them, of hate. That is the trap of Shaytaan, and Shaytaan is THE enemy. The real battle is Truth versus Lies, Clarity versus Deception, of the Believer versus Iblees, of Faith versus Materialism, of Unseen and Eternal Reality versus Temporary Trials !
The example of Rasulullah is always the best. After being pelted with stones, ridiculed, and left horribly bleeding at Ta’if, he prayed to Allah ta’ala:
Oh, my Allah! To Thee I complain of the feebleness of my strength, of my lack of resources and my being unimportant in the eyes of people. O, most Merciful of all those capable of showing mercy! Thou art the Lord of the weak, and Thou art my own Lord. To whom art Thou to entrust me; to an unsympathetic foe who should sullenly frown at me, or to an alien to whom Thou has given control over my affair? Not in the least do I care for anything except that I may have Thy protection for myself. I seek shelter in Your Light-the light which illuminates the Heavens and dispels all sorts of darkness, and which controls all affairs in this world as well as in the Hereafter. May it never be that I should incur Thy wrath, or that Thou should be displeased with me. I must remove the cause of Thy displeasure till Thou art pleased. There is no strength nor power but through Thee.
